Welcome to the GASN Health Priorities site! 

GASN has made a commitment to tackle the most prevalent health problems among Georgia’s students, and largest workforce – school faculty and staff.  We have identified these priorities based on current state data and aligned our 6 year (2010 – 2016) strategic plan with the Healthy People goals and objectives.

GASN recognizes that it’s members are in a very unique position to actually influence and change health outcomes for these two large and interwoven populations at their fingertips.  No other licensed healthcare provider in Georgia has the unique daily contact with their population that School Nurses have. 

Recognizing that School Health outcomes encompass state Child, Adolescent and Adult health outcomes, School Nurses are working together, and intentionally developing partnerships on the state and local levels to maximize our efforts.  As these partners work with us, share resources and tools with School Nurses we will see our collective efforts change the educational and health outcomes for Georgia’s future.

GASN is focused and engaged as a vital part of the Georgia healthcare delivery system, and as such, “On the Road to Wellness --- School Nurses Partnering for Healthy People 2020!”
