SNOTY Nominations 2020

It's time to recognize Georgia School Nurses! 
 
Good news! GASN has simplified the SNOTY nomination process this year. Please nominate a deserving school nurse by filling out the Georgia School Nurse of the Year Nomination Form before June 15th, 2022. The winners will be announced at the GASN Annual Meeting and Symposium on July 1, 2022.
  • All nominees must have completed at least 5 years of experience as a school nurse and 2 years as a GASN member. 
  • A brief statement of support is required (via the google form) along with ONE letter of recommendation. The letter of recommendation can be emailed to [email protected] and must address the nominee's work as it relates to the categories below. 
Georgia School Nurse RN or LPN of the Year
Quality of Care (nursing process, clinical knowledge/skills, quality assurance activities) 
Performance Appraisal and Ethics (evidence of current practice, evidence based, patient advocacy, confidentiality and respect)
Collaboration/Resource Utilization (Collaborator in student care)
Research (Participated in research project - planning, development and administration, presentation, evidence of research application to practice, publication of results)
Health Education - participate and provide continuing education
Educational background of nominee (Resume)
Communication - Skills (written, verbal & non-verbal communications skills; contribution to school nursing literature)
Collegiality (Member of; service to professional organizations at the local, state, national level)
Contributes to healthy work environment through professional interaction.
 
Georgia School Nurse Administrator of the Year
Clinical Practice Leadership (Clinical knowledge, written/verbal communication, skills to plan for clients' needs, skills to assess staff practice/performance)
Administrative Leadership ( Actively administer school health services/school nursing services: supervision, evaluation, directing school nursing services and programs)
Collaboration/Resource Utilization (Collaborator in student care)
Research (Participated in research project - planning, development and administration, presentation, evidence of research application to practice, publication of results)
Communication - Skills (written, verbal & non-verbal communications skills; contribution to school nursing literature)
